Born in the small farming Village of Chapmans, Addison ‘Bash’ Thomas knows what is to be poor, and can identify with the poor and working class.

Bash has been an active member of his community. He was president of the Chapmans Youth Group and manager of cricket and domino teams in his Village.

Mr. Thomas began teaching at an early age. He taught at the Lowman Windward Anglican School for most of his teaching career. In 2007, he was appointed Acting Head Teacher at the Lowmans Windward School. He was then transferred to the Park Hill Government School in 2008 where he also acted as Head Teacher for that school year.

Mr. Thomas attended the St. Vincent Teachers’ College where he obtained a Teachers’ Certificate. He is also a graduate of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Because of his service to the community and his love for people he was asked to serve at higher level, so Addison ‘Bash’ Thomas contested the general elections in 2010 in the constituency of South Central Windward for the New Democratic Party (NDP) but was unsuccessful. He is currently the Research Officer to the Leader of the Opposition.
